Jessica Borges brings a wealth of experience in global consumer insights, creative strategy, brand development, client management, and an innate ability to inspire creative excitement and inclusiveness in the teams she has worked with around the world.
Passionate about diversity, Jessica describes her career as a global journey of discovery from India, Muscat, Dubai, and Canada where she has spent a decade in the diversity and inclusion space, reaching out to the country’s fastest-growing consumer groups.
As Creative Director at McCann and Y&R, VP Creative at Dyversity, and CCO & CSO at Maple Diversity, she has enjoyed connecting diverse consumers to clients including RBC, OLG, Bell, J&J, Unilever, Nestle, Royale, Coca-Cola, HSBC, Canada Post, L’Oreal, GM, and The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation.
She has been actively involved in several inclusion projects: The launch of ‘WelcomePack Canada’ an initiative to help brands reach out to newcomers. ‘Live Love Canada’ a program to engage, educate, and enthuse immigrants on their settlement journey. Maple Diversity’s ‘Diversity Beyond Ethnicity’ program which aims to build inclusivity among segments like the 2SLGBTQ+, People with Disabilities and Indigenous Peoples.
Jessica has extensive experience in developing targeted customer personas, competitive marketing plans, and results-driven brand messaging. She is adept at planning, developing, and directing the execution of online and offline marketing campaigns, employing traditional, digital, social, and influencer marketing initiatives. She has successfully generated pipelines and business leads, aimed at maximizing profits and market share. She has mentored cross-functional teams, boosting performance.
She has been recognized at various local and international award shows.
Jessica has been invited to speak at the Toronto Public Library during Asian Heritage Month, published in Canadian anthologies ‘Canadian Voices’ and ‘Indian Voices’, has conducted ‘creative thinking’, ‘media literacy’, and ‘interactive storytelling’ workshops in Toronto schools, has been a judge and panelist at multicultural conferences, the Marketing Awards, and was on the Executive Jury representing Canada at the 2021 Gerety Awards which celebrates global work with a 100% female jury.
Excited about all things creative, digital and DE&I, she has completed a Digital Marketing Management program at the University of Toronto, the ‘Indigenous Canada’ course from the University of Alberta, and the ‘Diversity and Inclusion Certificate’ from the Canadian Centre for Diversity and Inclusion (CCDI).
